Airtel Ghana has presented a total cash prize of GHC 65,000 to 4 weekly winners and a monthly winner in the ongoing Wo MmerƸ Nie promotion.
Wo MmerƸ Nie is the telecom industry’s biggest and most rewarding recharge promotion launched by Airtel in February to reward customers and to empower them to pursue their dreams this year. Since launch, close to 2 million customers have benefited from instant daily prizes such as free talk time, data bundles and smartphones.
At a massively patronized ceremony at Market Circle, Takoradi, the company presented cash prizes of GHC 10,000 each to two weekly winners and GHC 25,000 to the first monthly winner.
Making the presentation to the winners, Rosy Fynn, Marketing Director of Airtel Ghana said “we are 5 weeks into Ghana’s biggest recharge promotion and we decided to bring the excitement to our cherished customers in Takoradi. Today, we are rewarding customers with the highest accumulated points for the 3rd and 5th week. They are Mustapha Toufik and Ibrahim Jackson. They both take home GHC 10,000.
Mustapha Toufik also walks away with the monthly prize money of GHC 25,000 for accumulating the highest points at the end of the fourth week”.
She continued “As a business, our commitment to enrich the lives of our customers drive us to develop telecom and lifestyle solutions to meet their current and future needs. We recognise that our customers are ambitious, they have big dreams and aspire for the good things in life so we launched this promotion to reward and give them the opportunity to actualize their aspirations this year”.
The ‘Wo MmerƸ Nie’ recharge promo is open to all Airtel prepaid customers. Customers receive points whenever they recharge with GHS 2 and above. These points accumulate overtime and customers with the highest accumulated points at the end of every day, week and month win prizes such as talk time, data bundles and smartphones for daily winners and cash prizes of GHC 10,000 and GHC 25,000 respectively for weekly and monthly winners.
Ibrahim Jackson, a student of University of Professional Studies, Accra, is the winner for week 5 bagging GHC 10,000. He intends to start a business after school with the prize money as part of his long term dream of running his own business. He praised Airtel Ghana for introducing the Wo MmerƸ Nie promo saying “I am elated to be a winner in this promotion. It was hard to believe when I received the call from Airtel saying I was a winner. There is no doubt this is a genuine promotion and I will encourage all Airtel customers to participate”.
Mustapha Toufik is an Accra based transport worker who picked a total of GHC 35,000 for being the winner for week 3 and the third monthly winner. He intends to invest the money to expand his business whilst keeping an eye on the grand prize of GHC 150,000. He said “all I did was recharge and play the SMS trivia and here I am today with GHC 35,000. I am very happy man”.
The duo adds to the first two weekly winners – Eric Nuete Mensah, a transport agent and Yaw Bio Yentumi-Mensah, a management trainee at the Forestry Commission who won for weeks 1 and 2 respectively.
Grand prize of GHC 150,000
At the end of the promotion, the customer with the highest accumulated points wins the ultimate prize of GHC 150,000. The first and second runners-up take home a whopping GHC 100,000 and GHC 75,000 respectively.
SMS Trivia to build points faster
Customers also have the opportunity to build up points by playing the innovative SMS trivia by sending START to 477 to subscribe and answer questions.
Double points for recharges using Airtel Money
Airtel prepaid customers who recharge or purchase data bundles using Airtel Money automatically receive double points for every recharge worth GHC 2 and above.
Points accumulated weekly and monthly are automatically rolled over to the following month to give every customer an increased chance of winning.
