Doris Afanyedey is the New AmCham CEO
The American Chamber of Commerce Ghana (AmCham Ghana) is pleased to announce the appointment of Doris Afanyedey as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 15th August 2025.
A 2009 Chartered Institute of Marketing Marketing Practitioner of the Year, and a former member of the AmCham Board, Doris previously served as the Managing Director of the Ghana subsidiaries of two Fortune 500 companies, Cummins and SC Johnson.
Doris is a seasoned business leader with over 15 years of leadership experience across West Africa and the Middle East. She is widely recognized for delivering substantial revenue growth, driving operational excellence, and spearheading strategic transformation in highly competitive markets.
She brings to AmCham stronger advocacy, enhanced services, and greater opportunities through deeper U.S.–Ghana trade and investment partnerships.
According to Kimathi Kuenyehia, Chairman of the Board:
“Doris is not new to AmCham. She has walked this journey with us as a Board member and contributor to our mission. Her return as CEO is both a homecoming and a strategic leap forward. The Board is confident in her ability to lead with insight, integrity, and a deep understanding of who we are and where we must go — bigger, better, stronger, and more impactful.”
Doris Afanyedey said:
“Our members are at the heart of everything we do. My goal is to ensure AmCham delivers tangible value — as your advocate, connector, and partner for sustainable business growth.”
She succeeds Simon Madjie, who was recently appointed by the President of Ghana as Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre.
