MTN marks 30 years with nationwide healthcare investment
Sometimes, the true meaning of a milestone is not in the years counted, but in the lives touched along the way.
As MTN Ghana marks 30 years as part of the Ghanaian story, this year’s 21 Days of Y’ello Care became a powerful expression of compassion with employees coming together to support their communities when it mattered most.

Across the country, employees stepped into hospitals, schools and communities, giving their time and skills to improve the lives and wellbeing of their communities.
What began as a plan to refurbish 3,000 hospital beds grew into something greater: 3,888 beds and essential equipment brought back to life.

Working with partners DOSH Foundation, Sika Pɛ Adwuma Co. Ltd and Wampharma, volunteers transformed spaces across seven hospitals, from Achimota to Tamale. For patients, it meant dignity and relief. For healthcare workers, less strain. For families, renewed hope.

As Adwoa Wiafe reflected, the work was shaped by one question: what does 30 years truly mean if not felt in the lives of people? The answer showed in every repaired bed.

The impact reached beyond hospital walls and into classrooms. In schools across all 16 regions, employees installed handwashing facilities and shared hygiene lessons that will last a lifetime. In markets and underserved areas, health screenings brought care closer to home.
Some of the most moving moments came from helping patients burdened by unpaid medical bills. With support from project partners, many returned home to their families—dignity restored, hope renewed.

As MTN Ghana steps into its next chapter, this journey reminds us that true connection goes beyond technology. It lives in kindness, in shared responsibility, and in the willingness to stand together.
Through meaningful partnerships and shared purpose, MTN continues to build not just networks, but stronger, healthier communities.
